I was one of the HPV pioneers in the I.H.P.V.A. years ago. I had lights and turn signals on my vehicle when there were only? 2 vehicles that had them during My 4 events during 15 years of developement and racing events. If yo would like any help in technical matters, I am quite willing. William :)

I have a bionx assist on my Waw velomobile because I live in a very hilly area, and pedaling a 90 pound "bike"? up a hill isn't much fun. Because the assist only operates below 30km/h (and I cruise from 35-45 km/h on the flat) it basically becomes a "hill assist". I don't think there is any shame in having an assist. You could say the aerodynamic advantage of a velomobile is "unfair" too. I like going fast, so I work just as hard as I do on my regular bike, even with the assist.

Many states have? a law where the electric motor cannot assist you past 20mph on a bike. There are other problems with e-assist as well like not being classified as a bicycle therefore bike paths, and parking on the street would be illegal. That is why I am buying a non-electric velomobile.

We've done fine breathing out CO2 for the last few thousand years. Why does breathing matter? now, yet, wasting electricity doesn't?

Yes, but think about all that CO2 greenhouse gas your breathing out as you struggle to cycle up hill. That can't be good for the environment, can it ? Velomobiles aren't any good? for fat people any way, because they wouldn't be able to squeeze their enormous butts into it. lmao

The nice thing ...
The nice thing about a velomobile (electric assist or not) is? that it's very aerodynamic and your 'protected from the elements', which means that you can use your 'bicycle' whatever the weather. For most velomobilists, this means they 'drive' their VM throughout the year. I wouldn't call that laziness. And it IS environmentally friendly. The electric assist only helps climb hills and accelerate faster, without ruining your knees. Also is safer in traffic. Probably recharges a bit while braking.

I'm getting? a velomobile Quest in about a month which is a purely Human Powered Vehicle. No electric motor. It's way faster than the Sun Rider......(-; Still this a great video and is pointing America in the right direction.

Sure, you peddle it. But what's the battery for? Majority of people would use the battery most of the time. Does peddling charge the battery up? I'd've thought so,? but it still needs to be charged to start with, tbh. "Environmentally friendly" - If it ran on solar energy I'd be impressed.
